Improver / Intermediate Sea Coaching Weekend
Time & Location
About The Event
This is a two day skills training course for people who have already completed an intromediate course, or have done some sea kayaking and are keen to develop their skills and knowledge to paddle in winds up to Force 3.
This progressive course will provide lots of practise, as well as widening your knowledge about sea kayaking and seamanship. We will seek to apply your current skills in to windier conditions, as well as providing an introduction to sea kayak navigation. The course will ideally have F3 winds, and include tactics, stroke selection, stroke linking skills. We will cover rescues, self-rescues and towing, as well as wider emergency skills. Students will be able to choose focus areas with the coach and will receive some personalised coaching, and receive an action plan to continue their development.
This is the start of independent sea paddling and great preparation for the British Canoeing Sea Award. Join us for a fun two days on the water and be better, safer sea kayakers.
The course requires a minimum of three bookings to run. Whilst the venue is listed as Tighnabruaich, it might change to make the best of the wind, weather and tides. It will run from Bute or Loch Fyne and the surrounding area.
